While the Ikuta school developed from its roots in jiuta-style koto music, an ensemble style accompanied by shamisen, the Yamada school is a school with roots that gained immense popularity by producing koto music that focused on songs, taking into account the tastes of the people of Edo.
It can be considered a new wave that truly responded to the times.
With these roots in mind, the new project "KOKONE Kokone" is in line with the cause of Yamada-ryu's roots, and we believe it will develop as a foundation for breaking new ground in the future.
